Woody, Willis L.
Military Service - Early in the War for Southern Independence, Willis enlisted 4 Mar (date is not certain because his service records only indicated 4 Mar but no year) at Morganton by W. W. Brown for a period of 3 years in the Confederate States Army, 52nd Regiment, Company H, "Fannin Rifles". He was killed during the defense of Vicksburg, Mississippi. His service record indicates that on 16 May 1863 he is missing from the 52nd Ga Reg't. |
